Gerald Frederick Guttowsky

Gerald, “Jerry,” a nickname to close friends and family, Guttowsky, 86, passed away August 8, 2026 at Anna Mae Owen Hospice House of Murray, KY.

Born January 20, 1940, in Saginaw, MI, to the late Ira and Vivian Savage Guttowsky. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, and Harold, sister, Iris Simerson and brothers-in-law, Dar Simerson, Roy Raaf, and niece, Sara Woodruff.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Pat Guttowsky, daughters, Julie Willingham and Missy Belcher, sisters, Dixie Raaf, and Diane Green (Jim Green), sisters-in-law, Liz Guttowsky, and Chris Guttowsky, grandchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Summers, Amanda Summers, Cody (Aiko Barker) Philpot, Devin Alston, Raegan (Chris) Givens, lots of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was the family clown, loving to make everyone laugh. He always said, “If you can make one person smile a day...you’ve made them feel better and yourself too! God likes that!”

Some remember him from the Ralph Emery Show, in the mornings, with all the silly hats he would wear to promote business at Burke Building Salvage.

Some remember what a great dad and husband he was. Some remember what a talented craftsman he was. Some remember him being their favorite uncle or grandpa. And some of us remember it all, like it was yesterday, and hoping to never forget one little moment.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held September 5, 2026, at the Murray City Park Pavilion, Murray Kentucky. Final details will be available soon.
