Mrs. Frances Ann "Fran" Styers, 87, of Murray, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at her daughter’s home.

Fran was born on October 26, 1938, in Paducah, KY to the late Don and Katherine Torian Harmon. She graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School and later in life worked and retired from BF Goodrich in Calvert City, Kentucky.

She lived a quiet life in many ways but loved in a way that filled every room she entered. Fran found happiness in the pages of a good book, especially her bible and scripture reading, as she had a strong faith. She loved singing hymns and playing the piano as well. Her family was small—but to her, love was never measured in numbers. It was measured in presence, in care, and in the way she made each person feel seen and valued. She was a devoted fan of University of Kentucky basketball as well as the Kentucky Derby. She loved the traditions and energy that came with both. Fran was also a devoted fan of Murray High Tennis, where her beloved daughter Suzanne coaches. During her time at Hickory Woods, she became known affectionately as “The Queen.” She took pride in her appearance, always put together from head to toe. Mrs. Styers was an avid animal lover and especially of her beloved cat, Pippi, who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Mr. Melvin Edward Styers; a sister, Lena Pearl Scott and a nephew, Donnie Scott.

Those she lovingly leaves behind include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Tracy Armstrong of Murray; step sons, Mike Styers and wife, Debbie of Clearwater, FL, Ronnie Styers and wife, Karen of Clearwater, FL; her grandson, Landon Armstrong of Denver, CO; nieces, Karen Scott Mitchell of TX, Kathy Blair of GA and Connie Scott Powell of Paducah.

A visitation celebrating her life is set for 2 pm – 4 pm on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Imes Funeral Home, 311 North 4th Street, Murray.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Humane Society of Calloway County, 607 Poplar Street, Murray, KY 42071 and Murray High Tennis Program, 502 Doran Road, Murray, KY 42071.
