Claudia Brock

Mrs. Claudia Brock, 72, of Murray, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at her daughters home.

Claudia was born in Bristol, CT to Emil and Dorothy Wentland. Claudia loved the outdoors. Her family frequently went camping when she was young and she kept that tradition up with her two children, even after moving to Kentucky. She instilled in them a love for nature and animals. She had many four-legged children over the years and was a doting Granny to her grand dog, Rascal. 

During her life, Claudia worked many different jobs. After moving to Kentucky, she decided to go back to school. She persevered through nursing school and became a registered nurse, working several years at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. 

Claudia had a gentle, sweet spirit. She spoke about the Lord frequently and knew she would one day see him face-to-face. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she treated her family. She loved to make her family feel special by celebrating their birthdays. She would be sure to make a cake and never failed to try to be the first to call and sing happy birthday. She was very kind and thoughtful. Even when she became ill and was no longer able to care for herself, she often ended conversations by saying “if there’s anything I can do for you, please let me know“.

Claudia is survived by her son, Tim Johnston (Heather) of Hazel, KY; her daughter, Sarah Johnston of Murray, KY; her sister, Joan Kirschner (Warren) of Burlington, CT and a bonus daughter, Debbie Ferguson of Murray.
