Charles L. Larimer

Mr. Charles L. Larimer, 92 of Murray, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2024 at Passion and Purpose Homecare Assisted Living.

Mr. Larimer was born to the late Lowell and Avis Siress Larimer on Christmas Eve of 1931 in Benton, KY.  He received a BA in English from Murray State University in 1956.  Charles coached the MSU rifle team from 1966-1968.  He later obtained his masters degree in 1975 from Shippensburg State.  His passions were hunting and fishing.

 After 32 years of service to the United States Army, he retired as Lieutenant Colonel.  Charles had a highly decorated military career obtaining a purple heart and two bronze stars along with other accolades.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joanne Larimer and his second wife, Linda Larimer in addition to one brother, Merlin Larimer.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include two sons, Lee Larimer of Frankfort, KY, Jim Larimer of Austin, TX and one daughter, Lynn Ogrod (Joe) of Los Lunas, NM.

A graveside service with military honors is set for 11:30 am on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Murray City Cemetery.
