Shirley (McCreery) Brown

Shirley (McCreery) Brown, 88, of Reidland passed away at 9:47 AM on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Countryside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Bardwell.
 
Shirley was a Godly woman and knew Christ as her personal savior. She served the Lord in many capacities during her life. She taught Sunday School, was active in the Nursing Home Ministry at Southland Baptist Temple and assisted her husband, Russell, on their church bus route that took hundreds of kids to church to hear about Jesus at their church in Michigan.
 
She was a dedicated mother and wife who tirelessly met the needs of her family. She was never too busy to drive her children to church and school activities or be a Cub Scout Den mother. Her pride and joy was providing a great home environment for her family.
 
She was a truly loving woman with a warm smile for all. Her love an Christian example will be missed but not forgotten.
 
She is survived by her son, Thomas Brown and wife Rebecca of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Cynthia (Brown) Skillman and husband Mark of Lehigh Acres, FL; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Brown; parents, Lester McCreery and Martha (Mitchum) McCreery; one brother, J.M. Bruce.
 
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Rev. Jimmy Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Clarks River Cemetery in Symsonia.
 
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
