Phillip Gordon Clark, of Paducah, KY passed away at age 82 at 2:16 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Providence Pointe Nursing Home in Paducah. Phillip was born and raised in Paducah, KY, he was the son of the late James Clark and Kathleen (Gordon) Clark.
 
He enjoyed his position as a pitcher for Lone Oak Purple Flash High School and he later coached his son’s team in Khoury League Baseball. He proudly served his country in the Army from June of 1962 – June of 1965, where he was stationed in Germany. Phillip owned his own business called Master Food Sales which was a wholesale food distributor. In addition to that he served as a Custodian at Concord Elementary School where he was called Mr. Phil by the teachers and students who had found a special place in his heart. In his earlier years he was a member and served as a deacon at Bible Baptist Church in Paducah and later attended Lone Oak Methodist Church. Above all, Mr. Clark was devoted to God and to his family. He was known for his kind smile and bold faith. No matter what circumstance he faced, he would turn it into a learning opportunity.
 
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ruth Clark; daughter, Tina and her husband Bobby Hughes of Calvert City, KY; son, Phillip “Tony” Clark and his wife Jamie of Prescott Valley, AZ; two sisters, Sandra Renfroe and her husband Charles of Burbank, CA, Kim Karnes and her husband Mike of Atlanta, GA; two step-daughters, Stacy Stallons and her husband Jay of Mobile, AL, Kelli Prasuhn and her husband Dustin of Baldwin, MO; 6 grandchildren, Callie Hughes, Aubrey Nguyen and her husband David, Zachary Clark, Kelsey Hughes, Ezra Prasuhn, Elaina Prasuhn.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clark and Kathleen (Gordon) Clark; his first wife of 41 years, Carolyn Sue (Moyers) Clark; siblings, Phyllis Johnson, Joyce Kirk, Judy Jones, James Robert Clark.
 
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Tony Clark officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the funeral home.
