Joyce M. (Cannon) McKinney, 73, of Possum Trot, KY, passed on to her Lord Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, on March 13, 2025, in Paducah, KY. She was born on April 29, 1951, in Butler County, KY, to her parents, Edward Cannon and Donnie Williams.
Joyce dedicated 28 years of her life to Fields Packing Company, where she worked with dedication and kindness. She was a devoted wife to William Kerry McKinney, with whom she shared 41 wonderful years of marriage.
A loving mother, Joyce is survived by her daughters, Melanie Payne (Steven) and Michelle Van Fleet (Jim); her sons, Kevin McKinney and Keith McKinney (Jamie). She was a cherished grandmother to Devan Clark, Tyler Leach, Nate Varney, Jacob McKinney, Foster McKinney, Katelynn McKinney, and Matthew McKinney, and a proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren.
Joyce was a woman of deep faith and attended Rosebower Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, camping, and hosting cookouts with her family. She was also an avid UK Wildcats fan and rarely missed a game, cheering on her team with passion. Joyce had a deep love for Gospel music, finding comfort and joy in its uplifting messages. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her loved ones and held them close to her heart.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Cannon, her mother, Donnie Williams, and two brothers.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Bro. Monte Hodges officiating. Graveside services will be held at Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro, KY with the time and date to be determined.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Additional service details will be announced. Joyce will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will forever be cherished.
