David Alan McCowan

David Alan McCowan, 56, of Paducah passed away at 9:25 AM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Baptist Health in Paducah.

David was a self-employed re modeler. He said it took more skill to be a remodeler than a carpenter because you did not start with a clean slate. He was very talented and could do almost anything but he would say it was because of our Father.

David was a true believer in the Bible. He did not have a favorite verse because he said there was to much good stuff to choose just one. His love for our Heavenly Father and Brother was beyond measure. David recently discovered the original names for our Father, Yahuah, and Brother, Yahusha, and felt it was important to call them by their correct name and would tell anyone who would listen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Leslie (Jacobs) McCowan of Paducah; Mr. Bob; dad, Ken Gould of Paducah; step-sister, Amanda Edwards; step-brother, Kenneth Gould; sister-in-law, Tara and Thomas Holstein; brother-in-law, Mark and Allison Wood; several nieces and nephews, Dusty Dyson, Tyler Wood, Rachel Conro, Brittney Boyd, Katie Holstein, Sarai Holstein, Kelsie Plumley, Haili Holstein; 3 aunts, Sue Hunt, Carol & Steve Spraggs, Linda & Jeff Modglin; several cousins and many precious great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John McCowan; mother, Kaneeta Ann (Cruse) McCowan Gould; one sister, Sarah McCowan; two uncles, Jimmy Cruse, Louis Cruse.

Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

David did not want a funeral service, so we are having a Celebration of Life. This will not be a traditional service but a friends and family gathering to remember Dave. Come casual and comfy and hopefully prepare to laugh. This will be upbeat, and we will be sharing memories and stories about David.
