Betty Kathleen Moore

Betty Kathleen Moore, age 78, passed away peacefully on August 11^th, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah. Known for her strength, sense of humor, and unwavering love for her family and cats, Betty touched the lives of many throughout her 78 years.  Not long after graduating beauty school, she moved to NJ and opened a beauty shop appropriately named Beauty by Betty, in Linden, NJ.  She experienced various cultures and made lifelong friends.  Betty relocated back home to Paducah in the eighties to be close to her family, especially her mother, whom she adored.  In 2017 she would end her nearly 60 years of being a hairdresser.  She spent many years making others feel beautiful and confident through her work, and even more years making them feel loved through her friendship and humor. 


Born in Paducah, Kentucky on September 2, 1946, Betty was the daughter of Albert Lee and Gladys Lee Moore. She spent her life devoted to her career, family, and her many animals. Her laughter, always genuine, often contagious, was one of her most cherished traits, along with her generous heart.


She is survived by her two beloved sisters, Marcy Bearden of Paducah Kentucky and Sue Ferrell of Evansville Indiana, her “Special” daughter, Danna Bearden Duncan, and husband Jake Duncan, both of whom she loved dearly, and who cared for and loved her with extraordinary devotion. She is also survived by four nephews, five nieces, fourteen great nephews and seven great nieces, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Albert, Ernest, Charles, Russell, Delbert and Raymond “Bud” Moore, and one sister, Agnes Moore Bone. Also preceding her in death were five nephews, one niece, eleven aunts and five uncles.


A celebration of life will be held at 1185 Sherwood Road, Paducah, KY on September 20^th at 1pm.

Betty will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and laughter will live on in all who knew her.
