Mrs. Mary Graves

Mrs. Mary Graves, 87, of Murray, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

Mrs. Graves was born on July 19, 1936 in Bardwell, KY to the late Edwin Escle and Deelie Hardison Rials.  

Mary was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved to be in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal and graciously passed down her beloved recipe for fried chicken to her children and grandchildren.  Her love for cooking was matched only by her enjoyment for sewing, crafting, and gardening.  Mary was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority as well as Memorial Baptist Church where she belonged to the Golden Circle Sunday School class.

She is preceded in death by her husband to whom she married on September 10, 1952, Mr. Joseph Graves, Sr.; two brothers, Theodore Rials and Sonny Rials; three sisters, Patricia Rials, Bonnie Tolbird, Dora Nell Watts and one great grandson, Beau Ryan Doss.

Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include her two sons, Joseph Graves, Jr. (Heather) of Rives, TN, Jeff Graves (Tammy) of Puryear; two daughters, Debra Doss (Terry) of Murray, Tracey Mowery (Mitch) of Murray; a sister, Beth Bowles (Dan) of Cunningham, KY; grandchildren, Troy Doss (Daysha), Adam Doss (Lyndsey Tonder), Holly Wade (Kyle), Jake W. Graves (Katie), Mackensie Vacca (Blake), Jaxon Moran, Dylan Moran, McCall Smith (Brandon), Miguel and Marisela Sanchez; great grandchildren, Ryann Doss, Lainey Doss, Emma Grace Graves, Andrew Graves, Sunny Smith, Beck Smith.

There will be a private family funeral at 11 am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home.  Brett Miles and Kerry Lambert will officiate and private burial will follow at Murray City Cemetery.
