Wendall W. Green, 80, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.
Wendall was born to the late Reverend Wallace and Edith Darnall Green on November 16th, 1943 in Marshall County. He graduated from Symsonia High School going on to attend and graduate from Murray State University. Wendall was an electronic engineer instructor at the Institute of Electronic Technology and Shawnee College and was known for his passion for teaching. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinal baseball, but neither surpassed his love for God and his family. Wendall was a member of the Ledbetter Masonic Lodge #952 and a member of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church.
Wendall is survived by his wife of 47 years, Saundra Kay Barrett Green of Benton; one son, Brian W. Green (Norma J.) of Metropolis, Illinois; three daughters, Rene’ Hines (John) of Nashville, Tennessee, Tina Kay Green of Murray, Kentucky, and Stephanie Leigh Green Largent (Nick Parker) of Draffenville, Kentucky; one brother, Jerry Green (Patsy) of Calvert City, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Cody Ray Green (Caitlin), Austin Tyler Green (Ashley Edwards), Courteney Jean Green (Logan Elrod), Kayla Lynne Holmes, Hunter Blake Largent; and one great granddaughter, Elsie J. Elrod.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Wallace and Edith Darnall Green.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on December 13, 2023 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on December 13, 2023 at Fooks Cemetery in Benton, Kentucky. Rev. Robert Bratcher officiating.
