Sara Lynn Hart, 89, of Benton, Kentucky, peacefully passed away at the Charter Senior Living Memory Care of Murray, Kentucky, on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Sara was born in Mayfield, Kentucky, on February 10, 1937, to the late John Reynolds and the late Dulcie Reynolds Crawford. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Nathan Hart, on January 12, 1956. Sara was a homemaker, taking care of their three children. Once their children had gotten older, she worked various jobs. Her last job for ten years was with TVA. She traveled between the Welcome Stations, The Homeplace, and Nature Center. She enjoyed interacting with the many visitors who visited LBL. She loved to travel. Savannah and Charleston were two of their favorite places to visit. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 70 years, Nathan Hart, Sr.; two daughters, Lori York of Benton and Sheri Bailey of Gilbertsville; one son, Nathan (Terri) Hart Jr. of Nashville, IL; one sister, Rebecca Reynolds (Jim) Carpenter of Leland, MI; five grandchildren, Breanne (Chris) Niemeyer of Breese, IL, Nathan Hart, III of Nashville, TN, Daniel Bailey of Lexington, Kinsey Bailey (Josh) Barkley of Pinehurst, NC, John Dowdy of Benton; two great-grandchildren, Kiera Hart of Breese, IL and Bodhi James Barkley of Pinehurst, NC.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Filbeck and Cann Life Celebration Center from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Filbeck and Cann Life Celebration Center.
