Rudy Lee Bowerman,91, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, surrounded by beloved family. The Lord sent his Angels to escort Rudy home at 3:40 PM.
Rudy was born on August 25, 1933, to James and Ruth Minter Bowerman in the Scale community of Marshall County. Rudy was blessed at birth to have a sister, Velta Washburn, and a brother Herlie Bowerman. Rudy, Velta, and Herlie were blessed to be raised in a Christian home where the love of God, family, and country was instilled in them.
Rudy and his parents moved to Centralia, Illinois, at the age of nine. He served honorably as active duty military in the Army from 1956-1958. At the age of 33, Rudy married the love of his life, Edna June Level, and they were married for over 45 years until the Lord took June home.
He was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart. Rudy was a member of the Church of Christ and was faithful to his attendance until he was no longer able to attend church.
Rudy is survived by three nieces, Brenda Robertson, Donna Harrison, and Wanda Garland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Level Bowerman; one sister, Velta Washburn; one brother, Herlie Bowerman; and his parents, James and Ruth Minter Bowerman.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
