Rex “Bud” Quillin, 63, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Bud was born in San Bernardino, California, on December 27, 1960, to the late Clifford Quillin and Betty Depre Alexander. Bud never met a stranger and was sure to always leave an impression on everyone he knew. He was not afraid of hard work, which was apparent in his work ethic and hobbies. Whether working on boats or restoring cars and motorcycles, Bud almost always had some side projects he was working on and wheeling and dealing with. He spent 20 years working as a yard foreman at Green Turtle Bay before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, especially deep-sea fishing, with his family. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his entire family and his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Paula Turner Quillin of Benton; his two daughters, Christina Quillin Carroll (Jacob) of Benton and Samantha Quillin of Benton; his two sons, Ryan Quillin (Bridgette) of Calvert City and Steven Quillin (Vanessa) of Paducah; two sisters, Roxy McDougal (Danny) of Benton and Robin Martin (Rodney) of Texas; one brother, Robert Alexander (Brandy) of Texas; six grandchildren, Zoey Carroll, Laney Carroll, Blayke Quillin, Brystol Quillin, Bellamy Quillin, and Bexley Quillin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Quillin and Betty Deprie Alexander.

Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr is handling the arrangements.

The family will be having a celebration of life held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Conference Center at Green Turtle Bay.
