Paul Krywokobylskyj, 63, of Grand Rivers, Kentucky, passed away on October 25, 2025, at his home.

Paul was born on September 8, 1962, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Adam Krywokobylskj and Shirley Kestel Krywokobylskyj. As a master craftsman with diverse talents, Paul possessed a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for his hobbies. From a young age, he worked as a self-employed jeweler, dedicating over 30 years to perfecting the art of jewelry repair for his clients. All of his pursuits demanded exceptional craftsmanship and commitment. He wasn’t one for idleness, so he also worked part-time as a waiter at Cracker Barrel for ten years.

As a leathersmith and gunsmith, Paul appreciated the precision and meticulous attention to detail required in each project he undertook. Renowned for his skills as a bladesmith, he found joy in repairing swords and crafting knives, while also being an enthusiastic collector of historical artifacts, particularly old weapons. Each piece he created was a reflection of his creativity and his remarkable ability to transform raw materials into stunning works of art.

In addition to his crafting talents, Paul was deeply passionate about martial arts, having earned his third-degree black belt. He later took on the role of instructor, sharing not only his skills but also the philosophy of respect and perseverance with many in his community.

Paul found joy in intellectual and cognitive challenges through a thoughtful game of chess. His analytical mindset and passion for the game led him to become the Chess Champion at the Paducah Chess Tournaments from 1979 to 1985. He proudly showcased his trophies for everyone to admire.

Paul is survived by his sister, Donna Hurt (William) of Grand Rivers;  one niece, Lisa Parrot of Kevil; two nephews, Mathew Hurt (Raiven) of Gilbertsville and Daniel Hurt of Paducah; his great-niece, Grace Hurt; two great-nephews, Reece Hurt and Adam Hurt; and his sister-in-law, Betty Krywokobylskyj.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, John Krywokobylskyj and Michael Krywokobylskyj; and his parents, Adam Kywokobylskyj and Shirley Kestel Krywokobylskyj.
