Patricia A. Garland, 79, of Hardin, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Bon Secours Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, Kentucky.
Patricia was born in Knox, Indiana, on October 6, 1945. She was a Loan Officer at Lake Chem Community Federal Credit Union before retiring. Patricia devoted herself to her husband and family, and that is what she most enjoyed. A close second to family was her love for fishing with her sidekick Tequila Rose, her dachshund who loved fishing just as much as her and was known to steal a fish or two from the trot line. Patricia’s love for nature was evident not only in fishing but also in her adoration of flowers and hummingbirds. She was of the Methodist faith.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 42 years, James E. Garland of Hardin, Kentucky; one daughter, Jennifer Suzanne Ramey, also of Hardin.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Vietta Short; and her Uncle, Raymond Short, both of whom raised her.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Gary Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.
