Oral Marks, Jr, 74, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Green Acres Nursing Home in Mayfield.
Oral was born on December 18, 1949, in Cobden, IL, to the late Oral Marks and Sarah Pedigo Marks. He was not a stranger to hard work and spent many years as a self-employed laborer doing odd and end jobs for many individuals and businesses. Oral enjoyed being around others and spending time with his friends. His captivating personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met throughout his life. Oral had a passion for cars, especially antique classic cars, and he always enjoyed going to look at them anytime he would see them. He was also very intrigued by eighteen-wheelers and the many different styles and ways people would build them. Oral was a member of First Baptist Church in Creal Springs, Illinois.
He is survived by his two sisters, Sandra Kay Sullins (Ralph) and Georgia Ferrell, both of Marion, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Marks; three brothers, Glenn Eugene Marks, Roy L. Marks, and James David Marks; and his parents, Oral Marks, and Sarah Elizabeth Pedigo Marks.
