Norma Sue Pickard Stephenson, 94, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023.
Norma was born in Mayfield, Kentucky, on September 22, 1928 to the late Charles Quitman Pickard and Ova Lynch Hall Pickard. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Charles "Don" Stephenson at the First Christian Church in Mayfield, KY. They were blessed to have experienced a 72- year journey filled with love, laughter, family and friends, especially at their Kentucky Lake "cabin," affectionately referred to as "Nana and Papa's." The "cabin" was established in 1959.
Norma graduated from Mayfield High School in 1946 and Murray State University in 1950, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was a member of Tri Sigma Sorority, the National Honor's Society and crowned Miss Murray State University (1950) and represented Murray State in the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival in Pineville, Kentucky. She received her Master's Degree in counseling from Western Kentucky University. She was an educator in Marshall County, McCracken County and Simpson County Schools.
Norma is survived by children Rick Stephenson, Louisville; Donna Cook (Brad) Louisville; Diane Barga (Ray) Benton; Terry Don Stephenson (Patricia) Spartanburg, SC. Her nine grandchildren; Chuck Stephenson (Pat), Tyler Cook (Cara), Justin Cook (Anna), Mackenzie Everly (Dave), Rachel Long (Evan), Stephen Barga, Adrienne Rawls (Brandon), Meredith Stephenson and Camille Stephenson (Cameron); and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Charles Don Stephenson.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Larry Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairdealing Cemetery.
