Linda Collie, 85, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Linda was born to the late Jewel and Joetta English on December 7, 1940, in Calvert City, Kentucky. Linda was a Ward Clerk at Western Baptist Hospital from which she also, retired. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around her faith and family.
She was a doting wife to her husband Gerald for 32 years before his passing, and a loving mother to Bryan, Jason, and Shanna. Linda loved the Lord deeply and lived her Christian faith each day through her kindness and interactions with others. She found great joy in helping people and was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand, a kind word, or simply someone who cared. She was a devout member of her church and took an active role in church activities and to serving others.
Linda was also close to and adored her brothers, James and Sonny. Her family was the greatest joy in her life, especially her grandchildren, Caleb, Blake, Katy Beth, and Ty. She treasured her time with them and was dedicated to teaching them to be kind, compassionate people who cared for and helped others, just as she had throughout her own life.
She is survived by one daughter, Shanna O’Dell; two sons, Bryan Collie and Jason Collie; two brothers, James English and Sonny English; and four grandchildren, Caleb Collie, Blake Collie, Katy Beth Winer and Ty O’Dell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Collie; and her parents, Jewel and Joetta Driskill English.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Linda’s memory to Western Kentucky Youth Camp, helping support Christian faith and fellowship for children and young people. Donations may be made at: wkyc.org
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025. Burial will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
