Joe Ray Hancock, age 90, of Draffenville, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at Baptist Health Paducah.
He was born on July 23, 1932 in McCracken County to his late parents, Charles Ray and Lorene Hunt Hancock. Joe was a member of Zion's Cause Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After his service, he became a truck driver and surpassed six million miles over 47 years. Joe lived most of his years in Georgia before moving back to Marshall County three years ago.
Joe is survived by two daughters, Brenda Tidwell of Murray, Barbara Willis (Rodney) of Cleveland, Tennessee; one sister, Peggy Draffen (William) of Gilbertsville; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Myrna Jean Hancock; first wife, Mildred Ware Hancock; two brothers, Tommy Hancock, Gordy Hancock; one granddaughter, Lisa Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Frazier officiating and Bro. Jason Logsdon assisting. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Marshall County.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
