Joe E. Dawes

Joe E. Dawes, age 87, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Stilley House in Benton.

Mr. Dawes was born in Marshall County on November 5, 1935 to the late James and Martha Farmer Dawes.  He was retired from ISP Chemicals where he worked as a Chemical Operator and he was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Joe loved playing the guitar and antique cars, especially antique Mustangs.  He also had a passion for music and hunting.

Joe is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nelda Boatright Dawes; one daughter, Missy Moss (Lynndy) of Benton; two sons, Alan Dawes (Patty) of Calvert City and Kevin Dawes of Benton; four grandchildren, Destyn Moss, Chanlee Moss, Casey Dawes and Alison Dawes; and five great-grandchildren, Sylas Winding, Memphis Winding, Kash Hayes, Kambree Hayes and Kohen Dawes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dupe Dawes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr with Bro. Mike Farmer officiating.  Burial will follow at Selyer Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
