Jewell Jones,79, left this world peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Benton, Kentucky.
She graced this earth with her loving presence since her birth to James Garland and Virginia Choate Garland on July 17, 1945, in Gary, Indiana. Jewell was a woman whose kindness knew no bounds. Her spirit was gentle, and her loving nature left a mark on the hearts of her family and friends. She loved watching Westerns, playing card games, and reading, but most of all fostering close relationships with her family.
Jewell is survived by one son, Scott Brown of Calvert City, Kentucky; two sisters, Sue Chambliss and Judith Story; three brothers, David Garland, James E. Garland, Jr., and Alan "Sonny" McGraw; two grandchildren, Mara Brown, Erin Jade Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Natalie Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Jones; one brother, Harley Andrew Garland; and her parents, James Garland and Virginia Choate Garland.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky 42025
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann. Bro. Gary Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
