James L. (Jim) Henson, age 91, of Benton, Kentucky, died on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Mercy Health in Paducah. 
 
Jim was born January 16, 1931, in Birmingham, Kentucky, to the late Gilbert and Mary Holland Henson.  He retired from Sears in Benton and was a farmer that loved to tinker with tractors and equipment.  He was a graduate of Paducah Junior College, a United States Navy Veteran and the oldest living member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.   He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid UK Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals fan, having heard the grand slam hit by Albert Puljols as one of his last delights.  Jim was a loving dad and grandfather who will be missed by many.
 
 
Jim Henson is survived by two daughters, Christi (Johnny) Jones of Benton and Connie (Billy) Holt of Benton, three grandchildren; Jon Michael Jones, Elizabeth Jones and Larissa Holt; a brother, Dennis P. Henson (Ann) of Benton and a sister;  Nancy Crook (Jerry) of Loudon, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.     
 
Mr. Henson is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Florence Wyatt, Hazel Edwards and Irma Howard and a brother, Robert C. Henson.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Henson will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Filbeck & Cann Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Capps officiating and burial in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Filbeck & Cann Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the service time of 2:00 PM.
