Henry “Buddy” Brown, 78, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Henry was born on October 27, 1947, in Golden Pond, Kentucky, to the late Henry Clay Brown and Lorene Mae Joyce Brown. After graduating from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1966, Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After completing his service, he returned home and began attending trade school. After trade school, Buddy was offered a job at GAF in Calvert City, where he spent many years working as an Instrument Technician before retiring from the plant.
As a man of faith, Buddy was a long-time member of Vanzora Baptist Church. Buddy also enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as hunting and fishing, and loved spending time with friends and family. Often, he could be found riding his side-by-side through the neighborhood, talking and visiting with his neighbors. He was also very crafty and enjoyed carving and making walking sticks that he gave to many of his friends and family. Having officially named himself the “Crew Chief” for his brother Gene and his drag car, Buddy also enjoyed attending the drag races alongside his brother whenever he had the chance.
He is survived by his five sisters, Faye Cope (C.W.) of Paducah, Joyce Swain (Tommy) of Ledbetter, Janice Wall (Ken) of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Carol Ann Ellington of Paducah, and Debbie Rikard (Dwight) of Fulton, Mississippi; his three brothers, Riley Brown of Paducah, Gene Brown of Calvert City, and Gerald Brown of Benton; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Lee Brown; his infant brother, Ricky Lynn Brown; and his parents, Henry Clay Brown and Lorene Mae Joyce Brown.
