Gary Paul Edwards, 75, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at his residence.
Gary was born to the late William Paul Edwards and Minnie Jo Vasseur Edwards on May 4, 1949, in McCracken County, Kentucky. Gary owned Edwards Construction and was a contractor from 1973 to 2002 when he retired. After retiring he found a new passion of buying and selling farm tractors alongside his son Adam. He was a country boy who loved hunting, fishing, and cattle farming. He was known for his humor, determination, and sometimes bluntly spoken opinions. His partner in crime and companion until his passing was his dog, a Border Collie, named Jake, who never left his side. Gary was a member of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church.
Gary is survived by one son, Adam Edwards of Calvert City, Kentucky; and two sisters, Nora Kay Wallace (Stephen) and Ramona Steely, both of Louisville, Kentucky; one niece, Gena Steely Bethune (Jim) of Louisville, Kentucky; and one nephew, Tyler Wallace (Beta) of London, England.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Martha Sue Edwards; infant son, Gary Craig Edwards; one brother-in-law, Gene Steely; and his parents, William Paul Edwards and Minnie Jo Vasseur Edwards.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Wes Morehead officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
