Ellis “Danny” Jaco, 84, of Benton, went to be with his Savior and best friend, Jesus, on December 29, 2022.
He was born to the late Ellis Hubert and Mildred Metcalf Jaco on June 19, 1938 in Marshall County.
Daddy was a very devoted husband of fifty five years, daddy and grandpa. He used the Bible as his foundation to teach his family right from wrong. His children’s understanding of God’s love, patience, compassion, promise keeping, and protection was all based on how they saw him live. His reward for being such a man of God was to see his wife Brenda, all of his boys, daughters in law, grandkids and their spouses saved before he left this world. He left knowing they would all be reunited someday.
Known for his quick wit and humor, Danny’s gift was to make folks laugh and have fun. He spent thirty grateful years at Pennwalt primarily as a crane operator creating many lasting memories for and with his coworkers. After retirement he enjoyed working in the garden and his field of corn. He gave away more corn than he ever sold, but that made him happy. His happiest times during retirement were watching his grandkids play baseball, basketball, piano recitals, talent shows and just watching them grow up. Everyone in attendance always knew which one was his grandchild as he would make it well known who he was there to cheer on.
Daddy was a devout member of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church and enjoyed his many friends made there. He always kept a pocket full of Tootsie Rolls and everyone looked forward to being the recipient of one tossed across an aisle and he was always sure to drop one in the offering plate for the ushers.
Danny is survived by his wife Brenda Conley Jaco; three sons, David Jaco (Misti), Paul Jaco (Vi) and Scott Jaco (April) all of Benton; one sister, Katie Jaco Rose (Winston “Wink”) of Benton; four grandchildren, Hunter Jaco, Hayden Jaco, Mia Jaco and Eli Daniel Jaco.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold Noel Jaco, George David Jaco and his parents.
