Earl "Ronnie" Rickman, 82, a lifelong resident of Benton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Ronnie was born on November 17, 1942, in Calvert City, Kentucky, to the late Morgan and Myrtle Angle Rickman. A cherished soul known for his kind nature, sharp wit, and warm friendliness, Ronnie dedicated many years to honing his craft as a carpenter. Beyond his professional life, Ronnie found joy in the simple pleasures. He was a fan of anything Western, riding horses and his mules. He always had his hands busy with woodworking or tending to his garden, each hobby a testament to his love for nature and the outdoors. Ronnie was old-fashioned to the core and believed in visiting friends and neighbors in times of sickness and mourning to show his support and concern and to rally with them in their time of need. He enjoyed slow Sunday mornings while listening to WCBL on the radio, and preferred his food just like his homeplace, country! Wherever Ronnie was, you could bet your bottom dollar you would find his long-time companion, his dog Nadine, in tow. Ronnie was a member of Oak Valley Church of Christ.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Anna Lamb Rickman; two daughters, Rhonda Long (David) of Benton, Kentucky and Rina Galehouse (Michael) of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Jackie Rainey; one brother, Sam Rickman (Pam); one sister inlaw, Trish Rickman; three grandchildren, Jeff Long (Shelby), Jeremy Long (Melissa), and Jordan Neal (Wesley); three great grandchildren, Macy Long, Hudson Long, and Baby Neal on the way; three step children, Tim York (Angie), Tony York (Kim), and Tammi Taylor; six step grandchildren, Amber Egner (Ben), Gracie York, Jessie York (Brittany), Dalton York, Tosha Clark (Adam), and Jeremy Holmes (Misty); and four step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Hurt and Liddie McAlister; one brother, Deb Rickman; and his parents, Morgan and Myrtle Angle Rickman.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to the Rickman Carpentry Scholarship Fund. Donations can be made at any First Kentucky Bank location.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Wilson Cemetery with Bro. David Hendrickson officiating.
