Dickie Lovett, born on January 14, 1943, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away at the age of 81 on November 20, 2024, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Dickie dedicated his career to public service, retiring as a Superintendent with the Army Corps of Engineers.

His work not only reflected his commitment to his country but also his steadfast Baptist faith. His passion for engines, computers, and technology was unparalleled, and he was known for his relentlessly inquisitive mind. Dickie was often described as stubborn, yet that stubbornness was matched by a compassionate and kind-hearted nature, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.

Dickie is survived by two sons, Todd Lovett of Benton and Chris Lovett (Tiffinie) of Benton; four grandchildren, Josh Lovett (Cara), Andrew Lovett, Emily Lovett and Elijah Lovett; two great-grandchildren, Mason Lovett and Madison Lovett; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Lovett; sister in-law, Brenda Lovett and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Hilda Lovett; his parents, Rollie and Ola Lovett; and two brothers, Paul Lovett and Jerry Lovett.

A private graveside service will be held.
