David C. Gardner,85, of Symsonia, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at his place of residence.
David was born on March 18, 1940, in Oaktown, Indiana, to the late Glen Curtis Gardner and Mary Stroud Gardner. David proudly served in the U.S. Navy, where he learned the values of discipline and camaraderie. He was a part of Naval Aviation and was stationed aboard aircraft carriers, most notably the USS Hancock and the USS Kitty Hawk. David had a lifelong love for guns and shooting, relishing the precision and skill they demanded. His hands, always eager to create and fix, found their expression through woodworking and gardening.
David is survived by his wife of 64 years Roger-Anne Heath Gardner of Symsonia; two sons, Curtis Gardner, Jr. (Brenda) and Jason Heath Gardner (Tammy) both of Symsonia; one sister, Cheryl Maxine Peyton of Heltonville, IN; three grandchildren, Madeline Gardner Woodward (Adam), Savannah Kaye Gardner, Issac Curtis Gardner (Amber); and three great grandchildren, Electra Zelda Woodward, Grayson Gardner, and Jackson Gardner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Curtis Gardner and Mary Stroud Gardner.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Symsonia Baptist Church, 680 KY-348, Symsonia, KY 42082.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Symsonia Baptist Church. Bro. Rick Miller officiating.
