Danny R. Hendon, 75, of Symsonia, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Danny was born to the late William Harris and Elgie Jones Hendon on May 29, 1950, in Boaz, Kentucky. Danny spent his working years as a Union Laborer and Operating Engineer, from which he retired. Outside of work, Danny found joy in the everyday blessings of life. He enjoyed gardening and took satisfaction in watching things grow under his care. He also loved raising chickens. He was an avid sports fan and was wholly devoted to UK basketball.
Those who knew Danny will remember him as a man with a gentle spirit and a generous heart. His loving nature was evident in the way he treated others. He loved to laugh and smile and was not afraid to shed a tear of compassion when his heart was deeply moved.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Maggie Hendon of Symsonia; one daughter, Casie Tucker (Jeremy) of
Mayfield, Kentucky; two brothers, Donald Hendon of Lone Oak, Kentucky, and one other; and two grandsons,Colby Tucker and Truman Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harris and Elgie Jones Hendon.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann.
