Amanda Lou Roberts Crittendon, 78, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Amanda was born in Murray, Kentucky, on December 13, 1947, to the late William Kermit Roberts and Mary Hilda Staples Roberts. Amanda lived a life full of hard work, faith, and deep love for her family.
After graduating from South Marshall High School in 1965, Amanda attended Murray State University before she started her career as a bookkeeper. She spent many years working as a bookkeeper for Parker Ford and Leon Riley Ford before her retirement. Faith was always an important part of Amanda’s life. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, where she also played the piano and organ for many years. For nearly 60 years, Amanda found joy in sharing her gift of playing the piano and organ as her ministry throughout the numerous local churches she attended.
Known for always keeping a clean house and a meticulous yard, Amanda loved spending her time outside mowing and tending to her flowers and landscaping. She enjoyed going out to eat dinner with friends and family, but always made sure to carve out a little time for herself to relax. More than anything else, her family is what she cherished the most. She loved taking every opportunity she could to spend time with her family, especially with her granddaughter, Neely.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Northcott (Todd) of Benton; her son, Michael Crittendon of Paducah; two brothers, Gary Dale Roberts (Mitzi) of Gilbertsville and William S. Roberts of Benton; one granddaughter, Neely Northcott Morgan (Justin) of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Usher Crittendon; and her parents, William Kermit Roberts and Mary Hilda Staples Roberts.
