Wanda Whitaker

Wanda Whitaker, 78 of Benton passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
 
Wanda was born in Champaign, Illinois on January 21, 1947 to Albert Brock and Jocelyn Maxine Mulvaney Brock. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton and worked at Marshall County Hospital as a Medicare Biller. Wanda enjoyed crafting and would make homemade greeting cards for her friends and family. She was a passionate sports fan, especially for University of Alabama, and could often be found yelling at the TV during their games.
 
She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan Whitaker (Amy) of Mahomet, IL and Joey Whitaker (Thanya) of Calvert City; one sister, Rita Brock of Mesa, AZ; five grandchildren, Ainsley Whitaker, Garrett Whitaker, Patricia Mendez, Austin Mendez and Andre Taveras; and one great-grandchild, Mar Martingnon.
 
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Don Wilson officiating. Interment will be held later at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City, IL.
 
Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
