Troy Spiceland

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Troy Mills Spiceland, who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024. The son of RM and Kay Spiceland, Troy was born on June 14, 1962 in Paducah.

Troy married his high school sweetheart Cheryl on March 25, 1983. They built a life on the family farm in Marshall County where Troy was raised and continued to live for his entire life. Married for 41 years, Troy and Cheryl were inseparable. Their marriage is an inspiration to their family and everyone who had the joy of knowing them.

Troy loved to hunt, work on his farm, and, above all, spend time with his family. He delighted in celebrating the successes, both big and small, of his children and grandchildren. Whether it be cheering from the sidelines or taking a family vacation, Troy’s greatest pleasure was being with his family.

Troy was a beloved husband, father of three, and grandfather of ten. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Spiceland; children, Clayton (Lauren) Spiceland, Travis (Candace) Spiceland, and Krista (Colby) Riley; grandchildren, Benjamin Spiceland, Bennet Riley, Jack Spiceland, Ocie Riley, Slade Spiceland, Roscoe Riley, Salem Spiceland, Cece Spiceland, Rudi Jo Riley and Savy Spiceland; mother, Kay Spiceland; and sister Tracey (Joe) York. He was preceded in death by his father, RM Spiceland.

Troy was an electrician at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and a member of the IBEW Local 816. A Christian man, Troy was an elder and lifelong member of the Briensburg Church of Christ. He was hardworking and selfless, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

The visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Collier Funeral Home. The burial will be at Matheny Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes.

The family welcomes memorial donations to the Briensburg Church of Christ Food Pantry in lieu of flowers.
