Troy Defew

Troy Defew, 56, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at his residence. 

Troy was born on Tuesday, June 11, 1968 in Benton, Kentucky to Jennie Creason Russell (Mike) and Eddie Ray Defew. He was a retired Marshall County deputy. Through his tenure at the Sheriff's Office he held several positions such as a road unit, narcotics detective, Marshall County's Sheriff's Office first K-9 officer, and sniper on the Special Response Team. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Murray Lodge #23. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Miller Defew of Benton, KY, mother, Jennie Creason Russell (Mike) of Benton, KY; father, Eddie Ray Defew of Salem , KY; son, Dakota Defew (Taylor Paige Thompson) Defew of Benton, KY; daughter, Taylor Defew (Jacob) of Benton, KY; step-brother, Matt Hatchett of Paducah, KY; step-sister, Melisa Kraft of Benton, KY; and one grand child, Piper Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Linda Carol Defew.
      
A visitation will be held on Tueday, January 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home.   

A memorial service will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Dakota Defew   officiating.
