Sherron Cunningham

Sherron G. Cunningham, 70 of Symsonia, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Passion & Purpose Homecare in Murray, Kentucky.

Sherron was born in Paducah, Kentucky on May 21, 1954 to the late Billy and Sue Gatlin.  She graduated from Reidland High School class of 1972 and attended Murray State University class of 1979, where she earned her master's in education and guidance counseling.  Sherron taught school in Crittenden County and retired as a guidance counselor from Reidland High School.  She was a member of Symsonia Methodist Church.  

She is survived by her daughter, Cari Thompson (Tommy) of Benton; one brother, Joe Gatlin (Suzie) of Bailey, CO; two grandchildren, Kayla Wood of Symsonia and Tori Cherry (Audie) of the Philippines; two great-grandchildren, Silas and Noah Lynn Cherry.

She was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate of 37 years, Ronnie Cunningham; two brothers, Tommy Gatlin and Terry Gatlin; one sister, Donna Smith; and her parents.

A funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with her nephew, Jerry Walker and Keith Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Level Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
