Sarah Franklin

Sarah Jane Bohannon Franklin, 78, of Kirksey, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born at home in Brewers on April 13, 1945 to Claude Bohannon Sr. and Adelene Rose Bohannon. Sarah was a member of Hardin Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden and growing beautiful flowers. Sarah would make clothing for her children and was a talented cook, keeping an extensive book of recipes her family enjoyed. She loved traveling and was always excited to visit somewhere new. Sarah had many passions throughout her life, but she found true joy when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 61 years, Jerry Franklin of Kirksey; one son, Jeff Franklin (Lisa) of Kirksey; one daughter, Melissa Hildebrand (Karl) of Gallatin, TN; one brother, Ronnie Bohannon of Fairdealing; six grandchildren, Samantha Flener (Caleb), Tiffany Croft (Trace), Tosha Franklin, Alyssa Martin (Jon), Sydney Hildebrand, and Kelsey Ellegood (Brady); and twelve great grandchildren, Izabel Flener, Abel Croft, Athena Croft, Oakley Croft, Hadilyn Croft, Charlie Jo Croft, Prudence Franklin, Eli Franklin, Elias Franklin, Jaxon Martin, Wyatt Martin, and Jayla Guthrie.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Claude Bohannon Jr. and George Bohannon.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Soldier Creek Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home.
