Roy F. Albertson

Roy Albertson, 74 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his residence in Benton, Kentucky.

Born Monday, January 30, 1950 in Hoopeston, Illinois, he was the son of the late Roy Eugene Albertson and the late Ora Lewis Windle. Roy retired in 1996 after 26 years as a welder for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He lived in Illinois until 2002, before moving to Benton. He was an avid fisherman and collected knives, firearms and other memorabilia.

Surviving are his wife Vickie Albertson of Benton, KY; sons; Roy Allen Albertson (Dana) of Sumner, IL and Chad Albertson (Amy) of Le Roy, IL, daughters; Dawn Muth (Karl) of Baytown, TX and Heather Shultz (Dewayne) of Claremont, IL, sisters; Judy Brown (Mack) of Paxton, IL and Nancy Matthews; ten grandchildren; Tyler Ludwig, Brady Muth, Trevor Albertson, Sabrina Freeman, Clayton Albertson, Hunter Albertson, Devyn Collier, Sierra Fenton, Braden Nicholson and Kyle Shultz, and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gail Marie (Noble) Albertson; son, Lance Albertson, brothers; Roy Eugene Albertson, Jr., Jack Albertson and Randy Windle; sister,  Dorothy Thompson and granddaughter; Felicia Albertson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 7 PM at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Spraggs officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.
