Rosemary Newport

Rosemary Best Newport, 87, of Benton, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Eminence, Missouri on January 28, 1938 to Ralph and Virginia (Dixon) Best. Rosemary worked as a beautician and ran her own salon out of her home.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Ray Newport of Benton; one daughter, Diedra Robinette (Burke) of Gilbertsville; two sons, Douglas Collins of St. Charles, MO and Shawn Collins (Lisa) of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters, Wanda Pummil and Lisa Zalabak; and one brother, David Best.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and  Virgina Best; and two sisters, Shirley Cotner and Gina Lansche.

In lieu of flowers, donations may  be made to the Special Olympics of Marshall County; c/o Chris Hanisch, 99 Griffin Lane Benton, KY 42025.

There will be no services for Mrs. Newport at this time.
