Robert Vernon Dawes

 Robert Vernon Dawes, 81, of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City.

Born Friday, September 24, 1943 in Benton, he was the son of the late Vernon Dawes and the late Nellie Roberts Dawes. He was a member of Jesus Name Tabernacle in Calvert City. He was a retired warehouseman for Draffen's in Calvert City.

Surviving are son, Rodney Dawes (Andrea) of Brazil, Indiana, daughter, Susan Burns of Terre Haute, IN, brother, Randle Dawes of Calvert City: grandchildren;  Elizabeth Cheng, Ross Dawes, Aidan Harrison, Alex Harrison, Josh Shelley, Hannah Dawes, and Sarah Burns: great grandchildren; Jeremiah Cheng, Kamaya Cheng, Alice Coffin, and Alainna Shelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Morris Dawes, and sister, Marilyn Houseman.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Goatley officiating.

Burial will follow at Dees Cemetery, Calvert City, KY.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home, Inc. located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.
