Robert "Bob" Thompson

Robert Lee "Bob" Thompson, 94 of Benton, KY died on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.

Born Saturday, December 17, 1927 in Marshall County, KY, he was the son of the late Curlin Thompson and the late Annie (Hamlet) Thompson. He was the husband of the late Betty Jean (Thweatt) Thompson for 67 years.

He was a equipment operator for the state of Kentucky Highway Department and attended Benton Church of Christ.

He is survived by his son, Tim Thompson wife Pam of Benton, KY; daughter, Sheila Newcomb of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Charity Johnson, Tonya Sigler, Amy Hibbs, Jacey Lewis; and great grandchildren, Mason Wyatt, Kaytlyn Collins, Sarah Collins, John Luke Hibbs, Cooper Lewis and Hadley Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, James Thompson, Boone Thompson, Prentice Thompson; and sisters, Charlene Slaughter Hicks, Pauline Pace, Lerlene Nash and Norma Wyatt.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Benton Church of Christ Cemetery with Cory Westerfield officiating.

Interment will be in Benton Church of Christ Cemetery, Benton, KY.

There will be no public visitation.
