Nancy E. Duren

Nancy Ellan Duren, 81 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at her home.

Born Thursday, June 3, 1943 in Benton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Loman Dotson and the late Nancy Louella "Cindy" Byars  Dotson. She was the retired bookkeeper for English Car Lot.

She was Nenaw to her grandchildren and great-grands, Mom to her two daughters.
She evolved from high school sweetheart to life partner with George.
She was a blessing to anyone fortunate enough to encounter her in any situation or circumstance.
Her smile was much more than upturned corners of the mouth. It brightened the day of anyone who paid attention.
She was an empathetic listener, a source of non-judgmental counsel and encouragement.
And as she has gone on to eternal rest in God’s presence, she leaves all who knew her with a big hole in our hearts.
But the hole will heal through the many precious memories that she leaves with us. May we all strive to be more like her, in honor of what she was.

Surviving are her husband, George Duren; daughters, Terri Thompson (John) of Benton, KY and Traci Baker of Benton, KY and sister, Patricia Bradford (Gerald) of West Paducah, KY, grandchildren; Cody Lane (Kelly), Tamera Nash (Ian) and Shelby Louellan, great grandchildren; Payson Lane, Emersyn Lane, Molly Royster, Jameson Royster, Clark Nash and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bobby Dotson and Gary Dotson, and sister, Betty Inman.

There will be no public services. All arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.

The family has requested that donation be made to the Marshall County Animal Care and Control 839 Hollytown Road Benton, KY 42025 in honor of Nancy's love for animals.
