Mary E. Jenkins

Mary Elizabeth Jenkins, 84 of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, Kentucky.

Mary was born in Marshall County, Kentucky on June 21, 1940 to the late D.W. Story and Dorothy Ford Story.  She enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers and gardening.  Mary was a big supporter of her husband, Walter, who was a flight instructor and mechanic at Kentucky Dam Airport where she worked as the manager.  She was a member of Vaughn's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter Jenkins; one daughter, Regina Belcher (Paul) of Loxahatchee, FL;  two sons, Steven Jenkins and Dale Jenkins, both of Calvert City, KY; one sister, Deborah Howard (David) of Calvert City, KY; four grandchildren, Rachel Fahey (Sean), Laura Gies (Mickey), Britny Rezek (Cole) and Sarah Belcher (Alec Liggins); four great-grandchildren, Lyndon Fahey, Madeline Fahey, Nolan Fahey and John Wilder Rezek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harvey Story; and grandson, Darrin Jenkins.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Fooks Cemetery with Randy Story officiating. 

Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Collier Funeral Chapel, 211 West 5th St., Benton, Kentucky.
