Marion Eugene Cope

Marion Eugene Cope, 87, of Benton, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Calvert City Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Eugene was born in Marshall County on April 7, 1937 to William Cope and Mary Dalton Cope. He was a member of Calvert City church of Christ He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Calvert City Metal and Alloys. In his free time, Eugene was always busy in his garden. He also enjoyed watching his grandson's theater performances and his granddaughter's volleyball games.

He is survived by one daughter, Jenny Shelton (Trey) of Benton; one son, Butch Cope of Lexington; one brother, Wayne Cope of Benton; and two grandchildren, John Shelton and Catherine Shelton.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Cope; his parents, William and Mary Cope; and one brother, Charles Cope.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marion Eugene Cope to Fooks Cemetery Fund at 2295 Mt. Moriah Rd Benton, KY 42025.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery.

The visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home.
