Lori Drennan Devine

Lori D. Devine passed away on October 5, 2022 at the age of 60 surrounded by her loving family. To know Lori was to know her fierce devotion to family and friends, her bright smile, infectious laugh, and immense joy for life. Her love for cooking, camping, and the beach was eclipsed only by her love for being Nana to her 5 precious grandchildren. 

 

Lori graduated from Reidland High School in 1980, and in 1984 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the former Lambuth College. For 23 years she served the Easterseals West Kentucky where she advocated for people living with disabilities as Senior Vice President and Vice President of Human Resources. She was a member of Paducah Lion’s Club and also served as a past Chair of Lion’s Club / WPSD Local 6 Telethon of Stars. During her career she received many honors, including the Dutchess of Paducah awarded by the Mayor’s Office, an Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels awarded by the Governor, Lion of the Year from the Paducah Lion’s Club, and the Melvin Jones Award from Lion’s Club International. 

 

The strength she displayed during her trial with cancer uplifted her family and friends, who all benefitted from her courage, grace, and unforgettable sense of humor. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Gilbert Devine; children Kesey Devine, and Tyler (Melina) Devine; grandchildren Brantley and Kasey Sumner, and Maddox and Boston Devine; sister Shari (Brad) Ghoulson; many more family members, and cherished friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by parents Eugene and Modena Drennan, brother David, and grandson Lincoln Barber. 

 

Instead of flowers, the family requests contributions to Easterseals West Kentucky in Lori’s memory. 

 

Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth Street, in Benton, Kentucky on October 8, 2022 from 12-2pm, with service at 2pm and a private burial to follow.
