Lisa Jo Stone, age 68, passed away on October 2, 2026, surrounded by a lifetime of love and memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Lisa was a loving wife, devoted mother, and, perhaps one of her most cherished titles, Gigi. She was the heart of her family, and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved.
Lisa leaves behind her husband Roger whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories.
She also leaves behind her two daughters, Jansen Melton (Darren) and Emily McKenzie (Patrick). But anyone who knew Lisa knew that being Gigi was one of her greatest joys. Her four grandchildren, Braylen and Kamdyn Melton, Stone and Kylee McKenzie, were her pride and joy.
If there was a game, Gigi was there. She never missed an opportunity to sit in the stands, cheer on her grandchildren, and be their biggest fan. No matter the sport, the weather, or the occasion, she wanted to be there. Her grandchildren never had to look far to find their Gigi cheering them on. She celebrated every accomplishment, big or small, and made each of them feel special and loved.
The memories of Gigi in the stands, her unwavering support, and the love she poured into her grandchildren will be treasured forever. Although there will now be an empty seat at their games, they will always have their biggest fan cheering them on from Heaven.
She is also survived by siblings Linda Edwards; Danny Story (Christine); Melanie Scharmahorn (Joe); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Melodean McGregor; her father, Joe Lee McGregor; and her brother-in-law, Russell “Hoink” Edwards.
Lisa’s passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot describe. Her family will miss her presence at every holiday, family gathering, birthday, and ballgame. They will miss the everyday moments, the conversations, the laughter, and simply knowing she was always there.
While her family wishes they could have had more time, they will forever be grateful for the memories they shared and the unconditional love she gave.
She was our Mom, their Gigi, and our family’s biggest fan.
Her love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those blessed to have known her. She may no longer be sitting in the stands, but her family knows she will be cheering them on from Heaven.
Forever our Mom. Forever their Gigi. Forever loved.
