Larry Curtis Ray of Calvert City passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 9th, 2024.  

He was born on September 25th, 1937, in Paducah, KY to Jerry Curtis Ray and Nola Nicholson Ray.

He was married to his sweetheart Judith E. Smith on December 12, 1957.

Larry worked for Pepsi as a route salesman and traveled all over western Kentucky.  He later went to work for the Army Corp of Engineers at Barkley Dam in 1967.  He worked there until he retired in 1983.  

He later had his own business of Lawn Service and Maintenance for several businesses in Benton and Paducah.

He was one of the first to start the Palma (Briensburg) Voluntary Fire Department and was a Board of Director.

He is preceded by his parents Jerry Curtis Ray (father), Nola Nicholson Ray (mother), Elsie Gilbert Ray (stepmother), sisters Charlene Ray Miller, Geraldine Ray Harper and Lodine Ray Emerson and 1 infant brother Jerry Curtis Ray Jr., 2 stepbrothers Freddie Gilbert and Harry Gilbert and 1 stepsister June Gilbert Brewer.

He is survived by his daughters Kellie Ray Quigley (Dennis), Kimberly Quinn Ray Wiggins (Gary), grandkids Linsey Quigley Hickman (Travis), Brett Quigley and Brandon Quigley.

Memorial service will be held at Calvert City United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:00 noon.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Calvert City United Methodist Church.

Inurnment will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the St Jude's Foundation, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Baptist Health Paducah, ATTN; Baptist Health Foundation, c/o memory of Larry Ray, 2501 KY Ave, Paducah, KY 42001.
