Larry "Grubby" Howard

Larry "Grubby" Howard, 83, of Symsonia passed away on December 8, 2024 at Mercy Health- Lourdes Hospital.

Grubby was born at home in Symsonia on February 1, 1941 to Edward Howard and Audrey Bell Howard. He was a member of Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Symsonia High School. Grubby worked in maintenance at B.F. Goodrich, as well as at Paducah Livestock, Airgas, and Phelps Farm Service. He was a farmer and grew row crops and raised cattle. Grubby enjoyed riding horses and any time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Connie Guill Howard; one son, Joel Howard (Janet) of Symsonia; one daughter, Lisa Jenkins (John) of Symsonia; six grandchildren, Whitney Blankenship (Matt), Matt Howard (Kristin), Danielle Coleman (Evan), Blake Howard (Lindsey), Trey Howard (Lindsey), and Trevor Jenkins (Megan); and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Audrey Howard; one brother, Terry Dale Howard; and his nephew, Darron Howard.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Danny York and Blake Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home.
