Kinney Castleberry

Kinney Castleberry, 83 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home.

Kinney was born in Benton, Kentucky on May 8, 1941 to the late Curt Castleberry and Lucrectia Thompson Castleberry.  During his career, he worked at Boyd Motors, was an operator at Penwalt and retired from Texas Gas.  He also enjoyed farming.  Kinney was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Glenda Smith Castleberry; one son, Kevin Castleberry (Courtney) of Benton; one daughter, Vannessa Poston (Jay) of Murray; one sister, Anna Castleberry of Benton; five grandchildren, Devyn Poston, Avery Poston, Aidan Poston, Callie Castleberry and Beau Castleberry.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, J.B. Castleberry, Brooks Castleberry, Clifton Castleberry, Donald Castleberry, Brian Castleberry and John E. Castleberry; two sisters, Josephine Myers and Lounell Reed; and his parents.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Beau Parker and Bro. Mark Thweatt officiating.  Interment will follow at Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
