Katherine "Kat" Brackett

Katherine "Kat" Nelson Brackett, 64 of Benton, KY died on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.

Kathy retired as a financial administrator for American General. She was an animal lover and loved her pets. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and especially loved to fish.

Born Saturday, September 21, 1957 in Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Nelson and the late Dorothy (Sage) Nelson. 

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Brackett of Benton, KY; son, Samuel Brackett of Benton, KY; daughter, Tiffany Cavanaugh of Hardin, KY; grandchildren, Sophia Brackett, Chloe Cavanaugh, Wyatt Cavanaugh; and longtime best friend, Nancy Covington of Olive Branch, MS.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with the Bro. Joel Frizzell officiating.

Interment will follow the service in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Collier Funeral Home.
