John "Marc" Hinds

John "Marc" Hinds, age 68, of Benton, KY passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at his residence.

Marc was born in Murray, KY on August 5, 1955, to the late James Thomas Hinds and the late Betty Jo Smith Hinds. Marc attended School of the Ozarks College from 1980 to 1982, after which he served in the United States Army from 1983 to 1993 where he worked in the medical field. His last employment was at Baptist Health for 18 years. Marc was a wonderful son, brother, cousin, and uncle. He was an avid history and science buff who loved to read. He also enjoyed watching westerns.

He is survived by his two brothers, Matthew Smith Hinds of Elkton, KY and James Michael Hinds of California; one sister, Marianne Lynch of Calvert City, KY; as well as many cousins, including Kelly Pierce of Paducah, KY, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Walnut Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with Terry Smith officiating.

There will be no public visitation.
